A quote request can ask several carriers, and only a carrier that answers with a price gives a quote. `market_outcomes` shows how the others answered, with each carrier's name in `source`: * `decline` or `missing_information`: the carrier answered without a quote. * `failed`: the carrier was unavailable or returned an error. * `no_answer`: the carrier gave no answer before the run ended. [Why did a request finish with no quotes?](/guides/why-did-a-request-finish-with-no-quotes) says what to do for each. A carrier that has no product in the applicant's state isn't asked, so `market_outcomes` doesn't list it. ## The deadline Truvo currently stops collecting answers 60 seconds after it accepts the request. Each carrier that hasn't answered by then reads `no_answer`, and an answer that arrives later doesn't change the request. See [The 60-second deadline](/guides/polling#the-60-second-deadline). ## Partial results A request with quotes completes with the reason `partly_quoted` when a carrier failed or gave no answer. A `partly_quoted` request doesn't always list a carrier that failed or gave no answer. Show the quotes it has. ## While the request runs Auto and pet quotes arrive one at a time, so a request that's still running can already hold quotes. Renters quotes arrive together. See [How long until quotes finish?](/guides/how-long-until-quotes-finish). > Each carrier answers on its own, and not every answer is a quote.
